Akut Gastroenterit Ön Tanılı Çocuklarda Rotavirüs Pozitifliği

Abstract

Bu çalışma, akut gastroenterit ön tanılı çocuk hastalarda rotavirüs aranması için gönderilen dışkı örneklerinde rotavirüs pozitifliğini belirlemek amacı ile yapıldı. Akut gastroenterit ön tanılı 250 çocuğun dışkı örneklerinde rotavirüs antijeni lateks aglutinasyon testi ile araştırıldı. Örneklerin 52’sinde (%21) rotavirüs antijeni saptandı. Rotavirüs infeksiyonu kış mevsiminde daha yüksek oranda görüldü. Çocuklarda görülen akut ishallerin tümünde bakteriyolojik ve parazitolojik inceleme yanında rotavirüs yönünden inceleme yapılması, yöremizde akut ishallerin etiyolojisini açıklayıcı olacaktır.

This study was performed to determine the positivity of rotavirus in stool specimens sent to the laboratory for the rquest of rotavirus detection in children with acute gastroenteritis. Rotavirus antigen were detected by the latex agglutination test in stool specmens of 250 children. Rotavirus was determined in 52 (21%) of patient’s specimens. Infection rate peaked in the winter mounths. Besides bacteriologic and parazitologic detection, rotavirus investigation in diarrheic stools from children with acute gastroenteritis will be benefical for explanation of the etiology of acute diarrhea in our region.
