Karotid Cisim Tümörleri+

Abstract

Karotid cisim tümörleri, boyun lateralinde ve sıklıkla karotid bifurkasyonunda bulunurlar. A. Karotis kommunis bifurkasyonunda bulunan karotis cisimciğinin paraganglionik hücrelerinden gelişmektedirler. Kliniğimizde son bir sene içinde opere edilen iki karotid cisim tümörlü olgu sunularak, daha önce kliniğimizde opere edilen üç olgu ve diğer literatür bilgileriyle tartışıldı. Boyun lateral bölge kitlelerinde karotid cisim tümörü de ön tanıda düşünülmeli ve gerekli görüldüğünde preoperatif tetkiklere Doppler USG ve anjiografi de eklenmelidir.

Carotid body tumors are found on the lateral neck, frequently in the carotid bifurcation. They originate from paraganglionic cells of carotid body, which is located in the carotid bifurcation. Two cases, operated in our department in this year, were reviewed together with three cases operated previously, in the light of literature. Carotid body tumors should be included in the differential diagnosis of lateral neck masses and examination should include Doppler USG and angiography if necessary.
