dc.description.abstract |
The aim of this study is to determine the effect of Student Teams Achievement
Divisions (STAD) technique used in the application of cooperative learning model
physics laboratory in the scope of science teaching laboratory practice on attitudes
of students. Experimental research design, including pre-test and post-test, was used
in the study. Work group of the study consists of 52 3th grade students studying
Science and Technology at Education Faculty of Fırat University in Elazığ between
2014-2015 fall semester. The study was conducted with experimental and control
group. Experimental group consist of 28, control group consists of 24 student.
Implementation of the study lasted eight weeks. Lessons are processed in accordance
with the STAD technique. For physics lesson and laboratory Physics Attitude Scale
(PAS) was used as data collection tool of the study. The pre-test and post test scores
of experimental and control groups from PAS were analyzed by using t-test.
According to the PAS results, the experimental group was observed to be a significant
difference in favor of the .05 level between pretest and posttest scores of control
group and experimental group students. It is observed this study concluded that the
investigate of the effects of STAD techniques’ on the attitudes of students in science
teaching laboratory practice courses in 2014 – 2015 academic year STAD technique
increase students’ attitude than traditional learning methods. The control and
experimental groups maintained their positions after the work is completed to the
degree I agree. But the attitude of experimental group students increased statistically
significantly higher than the control group. |
