SOSYAL BİLGİLER ÖĞRETMENLİĞİ ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN TOPLUMSAL CİNSİYET ALGILARI (İNÖNÜ ÜNİVERSİTESİ ÖRNEĞİ)

Abstract

Toplumsal yaşamda kadın ve erkek arasında var olan eşitsizlik veayrımcılığın temeli, genellikle toplumsal cinsiyet kavramı ileaçıklanmaktadır. Toplumsal cinsiyet, toplumun kadın ve erkek olmayaverdiği ve değer biçtiği rolleri anlatan bir kavramdır. Toplumsal cinsiyetrolleri sosyalleşme sürecinde öğrenilmektedir. Bu süreçte eğitimkurumunun önemli bir yeri vardır. Okullar toplumsal cinsiyet rollerineilişkin algı ve tutumların öğrenildiği yerlerin başında gelmektedir.Ortaokulda okutulan Sosyal bilgiler dersi ise toplumda kadın ve erkekrollerine ilişkin önemli içeriklere sahip bir derstir. Bu bakımdan SosyalBilgiler Öğretmenliği’nde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin sahip olduklarıtoplumsal cinsiyet algısı, gelecekte yetiştirecekleri öğrenciler üzerindeetkisi olması bakımından özel bir öneme sahiptir. Cinsiyet eşitsizliği veayrımcılığı probleminden yola çıkan bu çalışma, “Toplumsal CinsiyetRolleri Tutum Ölçeği” ile toplanacak veriler ışığında Sosyal BilgilerÖğretmenliği’nde öğrenimi gören öğrencilerin toplumsal cinsiyet algısınıölçmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmanın evrenini İnönü Üniversitesi EğitimFakültesi’nde öğrenim görmekte olan Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenliğiöğrencileri oluşturmaktadır.

The basis of inequality and discrimination between men and women in social life is explained by the concept of gender. Gender is a concept that describes the values and the roles that society attaches to being men and women. Gender roles are learned in the process of socialization. The educational institution also has an important role in this process. Schools are where some of the perceptions and attitudes about gender roles are learned. Social studies course has a special importance at secondary school level as it provides important information about male and female roles. In this sense, gender perception of social studies teacher candidates has a special importance in terms of having an impact on the students they will educate in the future. The problem of this study is gender inequality and discrimination. With the data to be collected “Gender Roles Attitude Scale”, it aims to measure the gender perception of prospective social studies teachers. The population of the study consists of social studies teacher students studying at Inonu University Faculty of Education.
