Üniversite öğrencilerinin öğretim elemanlarına ilişkin metaforları

Abstract

Öz:Bu araştırmanın amacı üniversite öğrencilerinin öğretim elemanlarına ilişkin düşüncelerinin geliştirdikleri metaforlar aracılığıyla incelenmesidir. Bu çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemleri ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın amaçlarına uygun olarak İnönü Üniversitesi 2010-2011 eğitim-öğretim yılında kayıtlı lisans öğrencilerinden amaçlı örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenen 170 i erkek, 150 si kadın olmak üzere toplam 320 katılımcıya uygulanan, açık uçlu soruların yer aldığı formlar aracılığıyla, 198 adet farklı metafor elde edilmiştir. İçerik analizine tabi tutulan veriler olumlu ve olumsuz kategorilere ayrılmış daha sonra yedişer temada gruplandırılmıştır. Araştırmanın dikkat çeken bulguları arasında öğrencilerin öğretim elemanı kavramıyla ilgili olumsuz kategoride daha fazla metafor ürettikleri, en fazla metaforun yer aldığı temanın bir otorite unsuru olarak öğretim elemanı teması olduğu ve öğretim elemanlarının olumlu yönlerinden en çok yönlendirici, yol gösterici, rehber olma özelliklerine değinmeleri sayılabilir. Başlık (İngilizce):Metaphors of the college students about instructors Öz (İngilizce):The aim of this study was to examine the beliefs of college students about instructors through the metaphors they developed. The study was carried out with qualitative research methods. For the purpose of this study 198 pieces of different metaphors were obtained through the forms with open-ended questions applied 170 male and 150 female students specify according to purposal sampling method from among the students enrolled in the academic year of 2010-2011 at İnönü University. Data applied content analysis was divided into two categories positive and negative and then grouped into seven themes. The important findings of study are that most of the university students have generated more negative metaphors than the positive ones about the lecturers, the theme of a lecturer as an authority person has been the mostly observed metaphor theme and the university students have mainly mentioned the features of orienting, leading and guiding by the lecturers of their positive aspects.
