Abstract:
The study was conducted with the aim to investigate the relationship between
exposure to bullying, committing bullying and recreational time perceptions of
adolescents who study at different types of schools. The "Personal Information Form"
prepared by the researcher and "Leisure Boredom Scale" developed by Iso-Ahola and
Weissinger (1990) and adapted to Turkish by Soylu and Siyez and "Peer Bullying
Scale- Adolescent Form" developed by Ayas and Pişkin were used as a data collection
tool. Population of the study consist of 1062 students studying in different high school
types in Batman province. In the analysis, it is seen that student ratio in the not
interfered group is higher than student groups in all other groups. In terms of the
largeness of the ratios, not interfered group is respectively followed by victim, bullyvictim
and bully groups. Ratio of students which interfere to bullying in any group
(bully, victim, bully-victim) is (19.9%), and the ratio of students in `not interfered`
group is (80.1%). While ¼ of the sample joins bully acts, 3/4 does not. As a result, it is
seen that students in the bully group have the highest average in scores taken in the
sub-dimensions of free-time boredom scale and all of the scales.
