Abstract:
Öz:Vitiligo, sık rastlanılan, melanosit kaybı ile giden depigmente maküllerle karakterize bir deri hastalığıdır. Vitiligo makülleri melanosit yıkımı sonucu oluşmaktadır. Hastalığın nedeni bilinmemekle birlikte otoimmunite, otositotoksisite ve nöral teoriler ileri sürülmektedir. Bu makalede vitiligo hastalığının klinik özellikleri, melanosit yıkımına neden olabilecek teorilerin mekanizmaları ve tedavi uygulamalarındaki temel bilgilerle birlikte yenilikler aktarılmaktadır.

Öz (İngilizce):Vitiligo is a relatively common skin disease characterised by development of patchy depigmented macules. The destruction of melanocytes is the cause of depigmented maculae. Although the cause is unknown, various theories such as the autoimmune, autocytotoxic, and neural hypotheses have been proposed. In this article, clinical characteristics of vitiligo disease, mechanism of the theories causing destruction of melanocyte and the basic information about their medical treatment as well as the recent improvements, are being quoted.
