Öz:Timoma, anterior mediastenin en sık görülen tümörüdür, invaziv timoma, vena kava superior sendromunun nadir bir sebebidir. Otuzsekiz yaşındaki erkek hasta, vena kava superior sendromu semptom ve bulguları ile başvurdu. Hastanın bilgisayarlı toraks tomografisinde ön mediastende kitle tespit edildi. Transtorasik ince iğne aspirasyon biyopsisiyle timoma tanısı kondu. Median sternotomi ile tama yakın kitle eksizyonu yapıldı. Postoperatif radyoterapi ve kemoterapi uygulanan hastada ameliyattan sonra 19. ayda vena kava superior sendromu bulguları olmayıp, hasta halen takip edilmektedir.
Abstract:Thymoma is the most common tumor of the anterior mediastinum. Invasive thymoma is a rare cause of superior vena cava syndrome. A 38 years-old male patient admitted with the symptoms and signs of superior vena cava syndrome. Thorax computerized tomography of the patient showed a mass in the anterior mediastinum. A transthoracic fine needle aspiration biopsy of the mass revealed thymoma. The mass was almost totally excised with a median sternotomy. The patient who was given postoperative radiotherapy and chemotherapy is still followed-up without signs of superior vena cava syndrome 19 months after surgery.
